Phase rings are common at 10x, 20x and 40x and rare at 5x, because the assumption is that low magnification means survey work in brightfield. In practice, scanning a flask or a plate for coverage and morphology at 5x under phase is faster than doing it at 10x, and this is the objective that makes it possible.
N PLAN is Leica's flat-field achromat line, infinity corrected, marked PH 0 with a red identification band and MPN 506303.
