Scientific CMOS is the sensor class that made low-light fluorescence practical without cooling a CCD to the point of impracticality: low read noise, high quantum efficiency and frame rates fast enough for live specimens. The DFC9000 GT is Leica's implementation of that, aimed at exactly the experiments where signal is scarce and bleaching is the enemy.
USB 3.0 means it connects to a current workstation without a frame grabber, and this listing includes the HC 1x C-mount adapter, the USB 3.0 cable and the power supply. On used cameras the adapter is frequently missing and separately expensive.
