Nikon L Plan 2.5X/0.075 ∞/0 EPI WD 8.8 Microscope Objective Lens w/ Adapter
Built for reflected light, where transmitted objectives fall apart
The EPI designation is not a minor variant. Reflected-light objectives are corrected for use without a cover glass and are internally treated to suppress the stray reflections that ruin contrast when illumination comes down the same path it returns through. Put a standard biological objective on a metallurgical or inspection stand and the image washes out.
This L Plan 2.5x/0.075 is infinity corrected with an 8.8 mm working distance, and the threaded adapter ring shown in the photographs is included.
