Any imaging run longer than a few minutes forces a choice: move the incubator to the microscope, or accept that the cells are dying while you record them. A stage-top chamber is the first option. Temperature, CO₂ and humidity hold at physiological conditions on the stage itself, which is what makes overnight time-lapse and long fluorescence series possible at all.
The XL Multi S1 is the modular version, accepting inserts for multiwell plates, dishes and slides so the vessel format is not fixed. This is the chamber only; the external controller is not included, and the unit carries cosmetic damage described below.
