Two axes in 48 mm of height
Stacking two single-axis stages to get XY motion doubles the height and puts the upper stage's load on the lower one's bearings at an offset. An integrated XY stage avoids both problems, and at 48 mm tall this one keeps the optical axis close to the breadboard where it belongs.
Dovetail bearings give the load capacity and the locking stability that this class of positioning needs. Twenty-five millimetres of travel on each axis, M6 mounting.
