A conventional achromat is two elements cemented together, and the cement is the weak point under high power: it absorbs, it heats, and eventually it damages while the glass on either side is untouched. An air-spaced doublet removes the cement entirely, which raises the damage threshold substantially.
This one is optimised for 532 nm with a 50 mm focal length and an 18 mm clear aperture. It appears new and unused, though it is untested in its field of use.
