Thorlabs FM02R Soda Lime Hot Mirror 25x36mm — New
Reflects the heat, passes the light
A hot mirror sends infrared back where it came from while letting the visible through. Put one in front of a lamp and the illumination reaches the sample without the radiant heat that accompanies it, which is the difference between imaging a specimen and slowly cooking it.
This one is cut rectangular at 25 x 36 mm, the shape that fits a 45° mount without clipping the beam. Soda lime substrate, new in its protective case.
Where it earns its place
- Removing infrared from a lamp's output before it reaches the sample
- Protecting heat-sensitive specimens and optics in an illumination path
- Separating visible and infrared in a 45° fold
- Projector and illuminator builds needing thermal management
